
Why my clients come to me: Personal Training and Physiotherapy
Training at the gym with injuries can be scary. If you currently have pain, or an injury, will exercising make things worse? Are you able to try a new exercise safely? Can you do that class your friend wants you to come along to? And this is why my clients come to me.
I also have clients who just want to get fit and enjoy exercise, and don’t have any pains. But they know how easy it is to get an injury, even while trying to improve one’s fitness. They will only trust someone like me, with the physiotherapy knowledge.
The Physiotherapy component
Being a Physiotherapist equips me with a scientific approach to training. There are so many aspects to consider when building you a program:
- What are your biomechanics?
- Is your pain acute or chronic?
- Have you developed poor movement patterns which contribute to your pain?
- What movements trigger your pain?
The list goes on. My speciality is to ensure you are well cared for, with an in-depth analysis of your own situation.
The Personal Training component
Along with the Physiotherapy assessment we bring in Personal Training…and you’re ticking the strength, fitness, mobility, and healthy lifestyle boxes.
Doing physiotherapy alone will only get you so far…I cannot stress the importance of looking at the bigger picture.
Exercising, resistance training and building muscle retrains your body to move normally again.
It ensures that you get your body better than it was before. It gets endorphins going. It prevents a whole host of other health conditions.
A program devised just for YOU
If you have developed injuries from following one-size-fits-all fitness programs, you will know that your body deserves individual attention. You want to get fit, not weakened by exercises that are not right for you.
I will always begin by meeting you. In our consultation, I assess your movement, consider any injury or limitations you currently live with, and discuss your goals. I get a comprehensive picture of what’s going on with you.
Next, I create your program – specifically for you. Depending on your wishes, you’ll be able to follow it at the gym, or at home. Not everyone has access to a gym or wants to go to the gym. And that’s okay. Home-workouts are just as effective, when professionally designed
Then it’s all about the progression of your program. How we continue to build your strength. What new movements we can challenge your body with. How we can make you feel healthy and ready to move freely.
The convenience of an app for your fitness program
With my app on your phone, you can access your program anywhere and anytime. All exercises have a description and video of me doing a demonstration. You can also keep note of how many repetitions you managed, what weights you used, and write little reminders for yourself.
If you would rather use your computer or tablet, your program is also available there: each client has a login to their own portal.
